The story
I like building things that pay for themselves. In e‑commerce, downtime and broken flows don't just "hurt the user experience" — they burn money. Ads keep spending. Customers keep bouncing. Support gets angry. Everybody loses. BlindSpot Apps is where I build small, opinionated Shopify apps that solve those annoying, high-impact problems. Not a "suite." Not a platform. Just focused tools that do their job and get out of the way.
Apps
Monitor
Watches the stuff that actually matters (storefront → cart → checkout) and alerts you fast when something breaks.
- Critical path checks (storefront, product pages, cart, checkout)
- Incident tracking + “what changed?” context
- Alerts via email / Slack / webhooks (because nobody checks dashboards)
- Optional “ads guardrails”: pause allowlisted campaigns when checkout is down, resume on recovery
What it takes (aka: the unglamorous parts)
- You’re building a multi-tenant product (every store is its own customer).
- OAuth, scopes, and “why is the callback failing in production?” are part of the experience.
- Webhooks matter (install/uninstall, billing events, store changes). Also: retries.
- Rate limits, API versioning, and platform quirks aren’t edge cases — they’re Tuesday.
- Background jobs, idempotency, and alert routing are what make “monitoring” real.
- Shipping to the App Store means reviews, policies, and a lot of “please explain your value.”
Tech stack
What’s next
- More apps (focused, boring, valuable).
- More store integrations and better “blast radius” controls.
- More polish so it feels like a product, not a side quest.
Notes / opinions
- If you’ve ever burned ad spend into a broken checkout, you already understand the product.
- Monitoring isn’t a chart — it’s fast detection, good alerts, and clear “what now?” steps.
- Builders underestimate foundations. Ecommerce builders underestimate edge cases. Shopify gives you both.
If you’re building on Shopify…
I can help you ship something that survives real merchants, real traffic, and real platform constraints.
